Sachin Tendulkar is one cricketer who refuses to go out of form and to celebrate whose achievements mere awards and trophies are not enough. However, the master batsman still enjoys being the common man’s favorite cricketer. Sachin Tendulkar recently received the Lebara People’s Choice award for his contribution to the sport of cricket.

The Asian Awards 2010 was held in London this year. In a statement made to the media after collecting yet another trophy, Sachin Tendulkar said that it was a totally different experience when you are rewarded based on the votes received from the public. The ace batsman from India is highly praised for his game not only on home grounds, but also overseas and has many a feather to his cap, but it his humility that makes him stand out from the crowd of players.

The Asian Awards not only celebrates the achievements of people involved in sports but also other fields of art. Present in the London auditorium along with Sachin Tendulkar were filmmaker Yash Chopra, music composer A R Rahman, business tycoon Vijay Mallya and singer Sonu Nigam from India. While Amitabh Bachchan won the Lifetime Achievement Award, the actor was not present in London to collect his award.

The Asian Awards 2010 was held to honor the achievers within the south Asian community. Organizers Lebara are hopeful about continuing with the venture every year.
